Trick or Treat?

The trick is to remember the treat is what you have remembered.
There were tons of little kids coming by tonight for treats. It was kind of cute and special because I was living in a neighborhood for 13 years with no kids on Halloween. I thought this would be a good time to post this eerie/serene picture taken a few days ago out my front door. It's the first time I've seen the fog hang so low here, remarkable. Some might say typical but it wasn't typical to me. It's great to be in a place where you can see things new again. I've been taking the public transportation (BART) to and from the city each day to go to my job. There is an element of it I really like and then there is an element I don't like too, all of you that know me well can guess what that is so I can share the part I do like. It is the sense of adventure and freedom, to see the bay, the hills, the fog, the sunset, to just ride the train.

Comment, please!

So at the end of each little entry I type there is an opportunity for you dear reader to type in a comment. If you do this then I know you actually care to read these things that are so hard to keep up on, mad respect to the LinnEngelking house for the work on their site!

So I am back in Berkeley and the city SF working my new job and sleeping in my own bed. The weather here this weekend was 85 Saturday almost 80 Sunday. That said I no longer want to wane on about the weather, ever again, let’s face it, it’s more than likely better weather here than in MN and so, that’s it! Count me out as the Midwesterner that speaks about the weather more than anything else. I’ll just show pictures from now on. Like these, Fall in my park and High Art in Berkeley (get it!) haha

I was out enjoying the day on Saturday and went to the Berkeley Farmer’s market, my favorite thing to get, 4 months running is heirloom tomatoes from this one guy and greens 3 for $3 from this other farm. The treat this round was goat cheese.

So the job…the first day I was fine. Fun! New! Exciting! The second day I was completely overwhelmed and the third day I got a plan. Those of you who know me or have worked with me know that once a system of organization comes to mind, there is no turning back and this position needs some organization and systems! So I am now hard at work and I have much to learn but it’s all about streamlining and simplifying and a few other things too.

All is well and I continue to be great-full that I am here and you are there and you still think about me and I you and you are planning your visit very soon.

It's definately FALL in MN

I am in Minnesota for a couple weeks. It has been beautiful fall weather so far, the kind where the air is crisp at night and the smell of dry leaves and the sound of dry leaves under foot feels good. I am happy to be "visiting" fall in MN, it is a good season. Oddly, the leaves were falling in Berkeley before I left and I had taken a mental note to photograph them to show you. It's a bit surprising that even though there is little temperature change nature knows what to do. So after I go down to Iowa this weekend to photograph a wedding I'll head back to CA to start my new job! I got a job in CA!

It is at a photography studio called "Orange Photography" and it's located in the city in the SOMA (South of Market) neighborhood. BART will get me there with ease. The focus of the job right now will be to learn their in house software and develop albums for weddings they have photographed already and investigate new markets for albums. I am happy because I feel very competent for the position and there is potential to shoot in the future, I'll keep you posted. This has also motivated me to get going packing up the studio here. I'll try to have it wrapped up by the end of the year as I anticipated. There will be a new photographer in my place at the studio in January. So here I go, onward. Hey, eat more oranges!
